Case study
Ralph joined Year 13 students at Wimbledon High School GDST for Hired to Question, a session on the role of artificial intelligence in the world of work.
The school wanted its Year 13 students to understand how AI is changing the job market, to come away curious, confident and keen to get involved, and to see that the people who understand these systems and know how to work them are the most employable.
A 60-minute session with students working in groups of about five, using a mix of AI tools because several assistants are only for over-18s. The students explored how AI is reshaping recruitment and why the ability to question its output matters. Through practical exercises, they worked on becoming effective drivers, interrogators and judges of AI, with a focus on critical thinking and using the technology responsibly.
These are very bright, dedicated students, and the session added practical AI fluency to strong academic ability. Each student left with a short prompting guide to keep building their confidence with AI.
"The session improved my confidence, and I feel more in control!"
"I like that the session introduced a new perspective towards the influence of AI in the work sector"
